Privacy Policy
Effective Date: March 29, 2026
Daily Roman (“we”, “us”, or “our”) is a mobile application operated by Alex Mazza. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the Daily Roman app.
Information We Collect
Data stored on your device:
- ●Your app preferences (notification times, preferred historical eras and topics, display settings)
- ●Generated historical facts and your browsing history within the app
- ●An anonymous user identifier for subscription management
This data is stored locally on your device using an on-device database and is not transmitted to our servers.
Third-Party Services
Daily Roman uses the following third-party services to function:
- ●Supabase — Our server infrastructure that proxies requests to the AI content provider. Your anonymous user ID is sent as a header for subscription verification. No personal information is stored on our servers.
- ●OpenRouter — Provides AI-generated historical content. Your topic preferences are sent as part of content generation prompts. No personally identifiable information is transmitted.
- ●Wikimedia Commons — Provides historical images. Only search queries related to historical topics are sent; no user data is transmitted.
- ●RevenueCat — Manages subscriptions and in-app purchases. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID and purchase transaction data from Apple. See RevenueCat's Privacy Policy.
- ●Apple Push Notification Service — Delivers scheduled notifications. We store your notification preferences locally; Apple processes the delivery.
- ●Google AdMob — Serves ads to free-tier users. AdMob may collect your device's advertising identifier (IDFA) if you grant permission via Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. This data is used to serve personalized ads. If you decline tracking, only non-personalized ads are shown. Pro subscribers do not see ads and no advertising data is collected. See Google's Privacy Policy.
- ●Sentry — Collects crash reports and performance diagnostics to help us fix bugs. No personally identifiable information is included. See Sentry's Privacy Policy.
Information We Do Not Collect
- ●We do not collect your name, email address, or phone number
- ●We do not collect location data
- ●We do not sell your personal data. Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob, which may use your device's advertising identifier if you grant tracking permission (see above)
Data Retention
All app data is stored locally on your device. Uninstalling the app removes all stored data. We do not maintain server-side copies of your content or preferences.
Children's Privacy
Daily Roman is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date.
